For many years, our owner Sally has been asked ‘how do you do it all?’ Running a shop, baking for hours on end, making accessories AND trading at festivals all summer - WELL… the secret is out! Sally’s been getting support from her little helpers - The Rascals! 

What are the Rascals?

They’re our special little friends who come out in the quiet of darkness and tinker around the shop! They’ve been around for a very long time and help the Freidette’s with fiddly jobs in the shop to make their lives a little easier. The Rascals are very shy, sneaky AND fast! Although very helpful, The Rascals love to annoy Sally and interfere whilst she’s baking cookies and shooting videos for Instagram.

Who are The Rascals?

So far, three of our Rascals have plucked up the courage to go public, Ferdinand, Miss Tuft, and recently, Celeste!

We’re slowly encouraging the others to meet the world - so watch this space!

Ferdinand - Stockroom Manager and Camp Vampire

Ferdinand is our camp vampire - our fanged fashionista who’s been hiding under

the floorboards since 1989. He takes residency in our basement and is our secret

stock manager. He’s fabulous, flamboyant, and fiercely good at this job!

Ferdinand is the first character to be released - he loves anything in pink, he’s camp,

as we call him our ‘camp-ire’ and he loves nothing more than seeing you in his favourite dresses!

Miss Tuft - 33 Lark Lane’s First Lady

Miss Tuft arrived here in 1989 when the building was first built, living upstairs and running a

ladies’ hat shop and outfitters with her daughter. Seeing as she’s the longest-standing resident

(aside from Ferdinand) she rules the roost. She takes care of all the other little rascals and can

sometimes be very stern. The rascals care for her like a grandmother, she always gives out

peppermint creams and toffees and makes a mean cookie! She shared her recipe with Sally

once and it’s now the recipe available every day in the Freida Mo’s cookie bakery.

Celeste - Freida Mo’s Shining Star

Have you ever wondered what happens to lost things? Little things that go missing,

like boxes and buttons, or big things like the people important to us who we can’t see anymore?

After a wrong turn, Celeste fell from the stars. She could not quite figured how to get back,

so she’s remained here in charge of all other long things at Freida Mo’s. If you’ve lost something, don’t worry -

chances are, Celeste is taking good care of it for you. She might even play you a tune on her trumpet too!
